Karen begun studying piano at the tender age of four. Her musical education spanned
seventeen years of classical training with renowned concert pianist Edna Summers at
the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Trinity College of Music London.

As a child she would spend most of her spare time practising and listening to her
favourite music. Inspired by Mozart and Chopin, Karen soon became intrigued with
European culture and history. A self-confessed Chopin addict, one of her lifelong goals
is to learn to play every piece ever written by the maestro. However, in the meantime,
she is content with mastering several of his Nocturnes, Waltzes and Etudes.

Although classical music is her first love, she is  intrigued with the concept of blending
classical with rock music and would like to explore this in the future.

Karen is also a talented vocalist, having studied voice craft and production for many
years. A versatile performer, she feels very much at home on stage whether the venue
is an intimate theatre or concert hall. From sultry blues to rock ‘n’ roll, Karen has fronted
several bands of both rock and classical nature. In 2004 she played Dusty Springfield
in her own original musical theatre production of Wishin’ and Hopin’. Often turning her
hand to composing, Karen has penned several pieces which have received critical
acclaim,
Lest  We Forget being among her notable achievements.

In 1997 Karen’s childhood ambition to be an international concert pianist was realised
when she toured England , playing in London and Liverpool. The success of this tour
was then followed up in 2001 and 2006 when she returned to the UK and Germany
giving audiences once again many mesmerizing and unforgettable performances.

In 2008 Karen will be relocating to Berlin Germany to further expand her musical
career. She eagerly looks forward to many new opportunities to work with a variety of
composers, musicians and performers.
